Field Technician III, EPG US-VA-Manassas Job ID: 2016-1502 Type: Regular Full-Time # of Openings: 1 Category: Technician Alban CAT Overview Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for an EPG Technician III for our Manassas branch. Responsibilities The EPG Technician III is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical generator systems and related engine failures at customer sites. Troubleshoot complex operational failures of generator sets, related equipment or industrial engines. Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts. Order replacement parts and services in a manner that promotes efficiency and effectiveness. Install and commission large genset with complex ATS. Perform heavy electrical repairs, alignments and engine overhauls to the engine, generator or components. Perform megger, vibration, stack and span gas testing as required. Safely drive a service vehicle. Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Use reactive and resistive load bank equipment for the testing and repair of generators. Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing complex issues and performing heavy electrical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment. Must have experience performing megger, vibration, stack and spam gas testing. Must have experience installing and commissioning large gensets with complex ATS. Must have a valid state driver's license, a good driving record and be available for after-hours emergency service requests from customers 24/7/365. Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must be able to work with limited supervision, be willing to travel and work hours as required by job and customer demand.
