About the PositionUnder limited supervision, this job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling complex property damage and liability insurance claims. This individual travels to the loss site to conduct a thorough analysis. This individual reviews the insurance policy, evaluates damages, determines loss coverage and authorizes payments. The individual provides work guidance and direction to less senior employees and provides mentoring and coaching to the team. The individual works independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. Specific responsibilities includeCustomer ServiceResearches and responds to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issuesReviews customer satisfaction results; participates in determining necessary personal and business unit action plansFile Documentation and ReportingDocuments a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making processHandles first notice of loss of water damage claimsCoverage, Liability and EvaluationInvestigates, reviews, determines and verifies complex coverage/policy informationProvides coverage explanation to customerMay assist in reviewing files and making recommendations to refer files to Home Office for escalationDamage EstimatingCompletes and reviews contents inventory, contents pricing, and mitigation billsNotifies insured of exposure over the policy limitPrepares damage estimate for moderately complex claimsHandles additional living expense claimsHandles claims involving sink holes, extra-contractual liability, or claims that include Public Adjuster involvementInspects and estimates water damage, hail damage, or smoke and fire damage in a dwellingOther Projects and ResponsibilitiesMay participate in one or more complex special assignmentsMay serve as a committee team lead for medium-sized projects or as a committee team member on large projectsConducts subrogation investigationsMay assist in researching or responding to or resolving complex compliance issuesAs a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license. If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed. Job Qualifications Working environmentPlease note that, since this is a field service position, you will need to have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle. This is a demanding field position that will require you to travel within the territory as much as 75% of your working time. As a result, you must be willing to work some weekend and extended hours if necessary.
