Kinesiology (Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position)
The School of Kinesiology in George Mason University's College of Education and Human Development invites applications from junior scholars who can contribute to the growth of the School's research portfolio and fully accredited academic programs. This is a tenure-track, academic year position for which we seek a promising researcher at the academic rank of assistant professor. Mason, a Carnegie Research I institution and the largest public university in Virginia, is conveniently located near federal funding agencies in the National Capital Region. The School offers BS, MS and PhD degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise, Fitness and Health Promotion; an MS in Athletic Training; and a BSEd in Health and Physical Education.
Required Qualifications: * Earned doctorate or ABD in Kinesiology or a closely related field; * A promising research agenda with a high potential for ongoing external funding; * An accelerating trajectory of scholarly publications and presentations; * Valuing of a collegial and multidisciplinary team approach to teaching, research and service; * Undergraduate teaching experience in substantively relevant courses.
Preferred Qualifications: * Research interests of applicants should align with the vision and mission of the School of Kinesiology and be complementary with the Sports Medicine Assessment, Research & Testing (SMART) Laboratory.
