The Fundraising Data Analytics and Systems Project Manager oversees multichannel fundraising data flow processes including the day to day activities associated with the organization's fundraising CRMs and ECRM databases. The position is responsible for analytic system reporting, systems operations and effective project management.

This position works with internal clients and team members to identify, conduct and engineer efficient processes striving for optimization. They serve as the main point of contact with fundraising internal clients for new technology initiative and campaign across channels. Exercising efficient project management tools and skills, this position captures comprehensive work flow around new projects and outlines the business requirements in a succinct and accurate documented manner. They also provides thought leadership and direction on best practices as it relates to project/change management.

Supports the Donor Services unit by providing system and process driven solutions. Reports to Director, Development Support and Donor Services.

Day to day activities include data monitoring, data quality improvements, database administration, system reporting and internal client project management.

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, processes and quality assurance of the Development team's fundraising platforms including the Direct Response CRM (MoneyMaker- current state, Saleforce NPSPS -future state, Luminate Online current state - Salesforce Marketing Cloud future state) and Major Gifts/Planned Gifts CRM (Clearview).

Manage analytics solutions including data visualization dashboards, ad-hoc reporting and quality assurance reports. Data visualization tools include Tableau, Frakture/Google Data Studio, CRM reporting (NPSP), online analysis Adobe Analytics/Omniture.

Responsible for capturing reporting requirements, configuring and implementing solution and producing reports.

Manage key fundraising processes, as well as data flow between various systems and vendors. Conduct business mapping, recommend best practices, optimize when possible, automate when possible, and promote a standardized process when applicable. Manage oversight of back-end processing and systems, keying, coding and donor file management as related to fundraising programs conducted in house via the Donor Services team or through external vendors. Conduct QC audits and ensure clean coding structure, and other data hygiene concepts. Manage vendors' work for accurate and timely delivery.

Manage collaborative and strategic relationship with internal clients (Development team, fundraising consultants) and AARP colleagues. Serve as go-to person for new fundraising initiatives. Captures and document business requirements in a clear, accurate and concise manner. Manage acceptance, work with implementation team to execute solutions and document standard operating procedures for maintenance and QC. Conduct, engineer and monitor efficient processes striving for optimization. Documents data dictionary(s) including, field type, definition, etc. for each field and table.

Serves as a subject-matter-expert on data sources, structure, and infrastructure solutions. Works with members of various teams to optimize data and information usage. Prepare and conduct technical training programs and assess training needs and certification requirements.

Adhere to all applicable laws and follow ethical standards for charitable giving, as defined by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the National Committee on Planned Giving.

Complete change management assessments, manage change portfolios. Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics. Consult and coach project teams, managers and supervisors.
  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree and/or 5+ years of successful fundraising database experience supporting large and complex fundraising programs.
  • Project management experience including capturing business requirements, change management, QC, administrative maintenance and SOP documentation.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Successful experience managing databases, system integrations, working with a large team, supporting multiple projects and project management. Ability to identify and create systems and procedures.
  • Must be collaborative.
  • An ability to identify and create systems and procedures.
  • Experience with Salesforce NPSP and Salesforce Marketing Cloud strongly desired.
  • Experience with Luminate online is desired.
  • Experience with data visualization reporting tools such as Tableau, Google Data Studios and Omniture highly desirable.
  • Experience with Clearview and MoneyMaker is a plus.
