Let your imagination take flight supporting the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). Looking to find work that stimulates your mind, challenges your skills, and satisfies your curiosity? MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.
The MIL Corporation Rapid Engineering & Prototype Solutions (REPS) Sector seeks a Senior Electrical or Computer Engineer with an emphasis in RF and broadcast communication engineering technologies. This position supports a variety of efforts related to radio and satellite communications, broadcast (AM, FM, and DTV) systems, cellular, and software defined radio implementation technologies. These systems, which are deployed in land, air, and shipboard systems, support an integrated communications structure across conventional platforms and unmanned aerial systems. The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in related areas and lead efforts to expand technological expertise in this and other associated technologies.
Key Duties
- Utilize knowledge of RF communications systems to define requirements, design systems, test implementations, and deploy solutions.
- Apply systems engineering principles, to identify, isolate and resolve or circumvent systems engineering problems.
- Follow systematic processes to investigate, research, design, development, and test of system components/equipment/subsystems.
- Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses reports, change proposals, systems specifications, test procedures, planning documents, operational concepts, and other technical documentation associated with initiating an In-Service Engineering Activity for communications and remote sensor systems.
- Utilize engineering experience to perform functions such as system installation/integration, configuration management, trade studies, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management in gaining approval for engineering changes to deployed systems.
- Develop technical solutions to problems, implement enhancements, and upgrade C5ISR system architectures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and supervise and mentor engineering staff.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with RF communications devices such as HF, VHF, UHF radios, TACSAT, VSAT, modems, ROIP, crypto loading and devices.
- Knowledge of software defined radio technologies.
- Understanding of formal and agile system development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Ability to work independently and in team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- At least five (5) years as a supervisor or functional lead.
- At least five (5) years' experience performing engineering functions related to military C5ISR Systems.
- Some travel (
- BS in computer science, computer engineering, or engineering +14 years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications
- MS (preferred) in computer science, computer engineering, or engineering + 10 years of related experience.
- Experience or certifications in related information or C5ISR sensor system technologies.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols, network cabling and interfaces.
