Job Description

The mission of the Digital Advertising Operations team is to be the subject matter experts on the processes and systems that support the delivery of The Washington Posts digital advertising campaigns. Our primary function is to successfully fulfill sales orders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and ever-changing environment. As such, we need a top-notch Manager of Advertising Traffic Operations to lead a team responsible for all campaign management activities including ad trafficking, campaign modifications and optimizations. Every online advertising campaign that is sold by our world class sales team is touched by this team to ensure that everything runs as sold and functions properly. Successful candidates will be energetic hard workers who are comfortable getting deep into the details. It requires an analytical brain, strong personal skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and supervise the trafficking team; Maintains team training materials and process documentation; Manage the team trafficking queue to ensure operational deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Subject matter expert on campaign scheduling, creative execution, and delivery management best practices; Create processes and guidelines in each of these functional areas to ensure that deals are executed and trafficked as sold
  • Create and enforce pre and post launch QA standards
  • Systems/Platform expert: Will have in depth knowledge of ad server delivery logic to troubleshoot delivery issues and provide effective solutions to manage campaign delivery in full
  • Conduct regular reviews of active campaigns with sales/account management leadership. Assess over/under delivery and performance and make any necessary adjustments
  • Ensure all advertising creative is compliant with applicable legal requirements, ad policies, and specifications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with direct reports, peers, customers, and vendors
  • Contribute to cross-functional special projects


Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadline driven tasks and comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Have a good understanding of both business needs and technology capabilities-plus be capable of translating that knowledge in plain terms
  • Expert knowledge of ad-tech/serving systems like: Doubleclick, Operative, Live Intent, MediaMath, Celtra or similar technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and Javascript
  • Prior experience in the Digital Advertising Trafficking or AdOps
  • BA/BS required
  • 7+ years of digital experience
  • 3 years of management experience
