YOUR TEAM You will be working alongside talented individuals to provide rapid development of data reporting systems using an Agile approach, performing analytics and building interactive dashboards and performance metric reports on legislative mandates' performance. For the rollout of the Affordable Care Act, CORMAC developed and deployed a dashboard used within the White House - the Marketplace Management Information (MMI) Dashboard - which is one of CMS' high-profile and priority projects related to the Marketplace. YOUR ROLE You will provide Data Model Development and modification to accommodate incoming data. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of database applications for our federal client. In this capacity, you will provide your expertise in relational database management concepts, data retrieval, metadata and business entity cataloging, business intelligence performance tuning, and data reporting best practices. You will be able to contribute to a wide variety of data-centric requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development. Work with the Development Project Team and Client to determine general business requirements and convert them to technical requirements. Develop and test SQL modules and reports based on design specification. Plan, test, and deploy SQL modules, SQL reports, and database code as part of the application build process across the enterprise. Create ad-hoc reports using SQL and other scripting languages per customer requirements from the database. Resolve various database issues to include problems with data modeling, design, queries, security control, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and import/export data, as well as coordinate with data ingest efforts with regard to database operations. Develop custom scripts to automate various database management processes, monitoring, and troubleshooting database performance. Develop, optimize, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries in support of application development. Recognize and act on inconsistencies in data or results and escalate unusual problems. Develop database tables and dictionaries. Perform data back-up and archival on a regular basis. Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage. Evaluate existing databases and recommend improvements for performance efficiency. Develop best practices for database design and development activities. WHAT YOU BRING Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or other related field and/or discipline. 5 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in various aspects of database programming by using the Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Sound knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and/or related technologies that encapsulate SQL, including Triggers, Procedures, Functions, and Packages. Experience with or knowledge of Data Warehousing, reporting methodologies/ techniques and Business Intelligence reporting. Experience creating database tables, views, medium to complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Experience in fine-tuning SQL queries, SQL programs, and improving application performance. Excellent understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to translate business requirements to update data models. Experience in building applications with high availability and scalability requirements. Experience in identifying opportunities for reducing data redundancy and inconsistencies in data usage and trends. Experience in implementing the database security to reduce vulnerabilities. Experience working closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications. Ability to apply innovation, creativity, and improvement to the development and support processes and to be able to support multiple priorities effectively. Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-moving and high-stakes environment Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills BONUSES Knowledge of the Medicare, Medicare Parts C and D program and Medicaid.
