IT Business Analyst
George Mason University's Auxiliary Enterprises invites applicants for the position of IT Business Analyst. The individual will serve in the information technology capacity and support business objectives by ensuring successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our software product's features. Specifically, the position will provide primary oversight for all applications within Auxiliary Enterprises, with oversight in day to day management. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for evaluating applications, determining how business processes fit and documenting recommendations for improvements. The individual will be responsible for server administration as well as enterprise application support, ensuring system up-time as well as serve as a technical resource in business process to application usage. The position will assist with the creation of reports using SQL or other reporting tools to deliver data to business units. The IT Business Analyst will ensure documentation for systems, connection, schemas and will document and maintain overall business flow.

Responsibilities include: * Ensure project and tasks are completed in a timely fashion; * Understanding of enterprise applications and relationship to business processes; * Assist with the business case creation; * Development and review of document for processes and procedures; * Perform quality assurance for processes and procedures; * Plan deployments and monitor enterprise systems; * Assist customers in building requirements analysis; * Develop relationships with partners by working with them to optimize and enhance integration; * Build processes to alert on requirement deficiencies; * Assist in managing enterprise systems; * Communicate key insight and findings; * Develop solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions; * Responsible for entire document life cycle; * Responsible for making recommendations based on business needs.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; * Strong written and verbal communication skills including: - Experience in building user documentation and training processes - Experience in training diverse group of users * Experience in management of enterprise system; to provide oversight, support, and life cycle maintenance; * Proven experience providing strategic leadership and oversight for enterprise systems; * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced diverse environment; * Ability to multitask, problem-solve, be detailed-oriented, and manage competing priorities; * Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in creating business case development; * Experience in developing top level strategies to achieve results and meet divisional mission; * Understanding of SQL to assist in creation and maintenance of jobs; * Maintain responsibility for writing and editing documentation including the creation of training materials, user manuals, presentations and other artifacts, as necessary; * Requirements-gathering and documentation experience.
