The Washington DC office of Finnegan, one of the world"s leading and largest intellectual property law firms, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant. The ITC Litigation Legal Assistant will support the Litigation Technology & Support department and attorneys by facilitating the completion of projects for cases and maintain the integrity of cases and case information. This position will focus primarily on ITC cases and related matters. draft and review legal documents and assist with the timely closure of a case to comply with Firm policies and procedures. The Litigation Legal Assistant will: Maintain correspondence and pleadings, master file index, and/or litigation directory and index and image as appropriate. Utilize litigation software such as Summation and/or Concordance. Assist with document productions, including document production at the client"s office, coordinate attorney review for relevant and privilege documents and coordinate efforts with appropriate vendors. Maintain deposition files and deposition databases, including the creation of deposition exhibit lists. Assist in the preparation of witnesses for depositions. Assist with court filings. Docket court dates, if appropriate. Cite Check, Shepardize and Bluebook briefs, as appropriate to skill level. Work overtime or travel, if required. Assist in all aspects of the preparation for trial and attend trial if needed. Complete duties under time constraints. Participate in the supervision and training of litigation clerks. A' Perform administrative tasks according to department and firm policies and procedures. Other assigned duties as needed. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor"s degree and 2-5 years of extensive ITC litigation experience, paralegal certificate preferred; experience with case/matter management and/or other database tools and technologies used to manage data and information, demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, expert research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet and government websites. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to deal courteously and efficiently with attorneys, clients, administrative and support staff, as well as outside vendors and professional peers, work well under pressure, meet frequent deadlines and work independently while taking direction from a departmental team lead.
