Vice President, NorAm Competitive Intelligence and Strategy Location US-MD-Gaithersburg System ID 86390 Category Strategic Planning Relocation Type No Employment Status Full-Time Unit Description As the Vice President of Strategy & Competitive Intelligence, you will lead competitive intelligence for Sodexo North America and manage strategic, high-visibility initiatives. You will drive an efficient and effective problem-solving process from conception through convergence with business leaders on practical, sensible, relevant and cohesive solutions. This is a role that demands thought leadership at the strategic level and command of all the technical details. You will need great communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships. Competitive intelligence and market watch: The scope of the watch is North America, with a focus on various markets and competitors. You will work in close collaboration with the department's members, project managers, and Strategic Planning VPs, and animate a network of competition and market experts in the regions. You will focus on regularly monitoring markets and competition, and contributing to the principal mission: - Gather data and perform outside-in analyses in support of the strategic planning process: Macro-indicators and trends, market potential, competitive analysis - Produce market and competitive strategy studies for North America and for Group as needed - Animate the strategic planning process in North America - Facilitate discussions with Sales and Operations leaders to challenge our current understanding and approaches of contracts and markets Strategic initiatives: You will play a critical role in providing strategic support to the cross-functional region team. You will elevate the quality of specific ongoing initiatives and pro-actively drive collaborative efforts. As a strategic partner to senior leaders in Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and Supply Chain teams, you will develop strong relationships and a deep understanding of the North America business. You will contribute to the primary objectives of the Region Strategic Support team: - Supporting business leaders with strategic guidance and performing hands-on work as needed (Analyses, strategic reviews, presentations) - Driving priority initiatives and identifying coordination opportunities across disparate efforts within the region (M&A projects, Growth and Savings initiatives) - Providing visibility to Sodexo leaders on region-level KPIs, risks, and opportunities Specific responsibilities include: - Performing analyses (both quantitative and qualitative) and developing concise executive presentations - Managing strategic cross-functional projects and tracking progress against tight deadlines - Facilitating and actively participating in key meetings, driving all stakeholders to convergence - Assessing a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring that risks & opportunities are efficiently uncovered and addressed - Forging relationships with all stakeholders and fostering open channels of communication across the region - Maintaining and reinforcing competitive intelligence data, methodology, processes, and tools. This includes producing readouts for North America leaders, and managing external market watch providers - Producing and presenting in-depth analyses and prospective reflections on market & competition for internal stakeholders. This will include conducting surveys in collaboration with external partners, financial assessments, and prospective reflections based on market trends, technological trends - Animating the market and competitive intelligence network in North America (5+ members). This includes organizing webinars, managing the sharing platform, addressing feedback / needs (community mgmt.) - Acting as the point of contact for North America for the global Sodexo Competitive Intelligence Network Desired Qualifications: | 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organizations | Fluent in English, French or any other language is a plus | Undergraduate or advanced business / management degree from a top academic program | Strong background in consulting, project management and problem solving, with demonstrable analytical skills | Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings | Know-how to take the initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new information and skills | Are not just intelligent, but creative too: ready to come up with novel ideas to solve our biggest problems | Have an aptitude for analytical work, crystallizing key insights on complex topics | A willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our diverse, talented team | Knowledge of the contracted foodservice and/or facilities management market is a plus | Experience in community management is a plus Preferred location in Greater Washington DC area, will also consider Remote office.
