Position Summary Provides financial analytical support to various areas of complex research & development programs for program management, and cost accounting analysis to the manufacturing organization. Performs complex financial functions integrating results of statistical and analytical studies, business case development with projections, reports, and presentation. The position also requires the timely preparation of detailed annual operating plan (AOP/Budget), monthly, and quarterly financial forecasts, schedules of actual vs. budget variances, drive efficient project financial controls, manufacturing accounting, planning and execution of business unit level financials and resource analysis, sales and profit forecasting, indirect budget analysis, managing cash flows, evaluating bookings, and preparing and monitoring other financial metrics, as needed. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities . Assisting with full life-cycle of project financial management including project financial status reviews, project pricing reviews, setup, revenue and expense recognition, working with project accounting team to ensure timely billings and effective working capital management. . Prepares Monthly Project Status Review reports for program management and customers. . Prepares quarterly "in process reviews" on company financial position and rolling forecasts. . Reviewing project and sales order financial results, Estimation to Completion (ETCs), Estimation at Completion (EACs) on programs (projects), and entity financial statements for accuracy and completeness. . Monitors Manufacturing Orders costs and the costs of goods sold by Lot. . Coordinating short-term and long-term planning, forecasting, budgeting and reporting activities. . Performs multiple financial, cost analyses functions, including cost allocation, setting up cost control systems, collecting data, controlling costs and preparing reports that maintain the company's accounting system. . Working closely with Finance and non-Finance personnel to understand the current state of the business, performance variances, and effective communication of opportunities and risks to future business success. . Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. . Coordinates and interacts with DCAA, DCMA, and external auditors. Minimum Requirements . Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline and 5 to 7 years of related experience. MBA would be a plus. . Proven work experience in a current or previous financial analyst or cost accounting analyst position. . Financial control or accounting experience within a medium to large size government contractor or commercial entity. . Experienced in financial analysis and demonstrated command of basic accounting concepts and financial statements. . Deltek Costpoint 7.1.1and Cognos 10 or 11 experience. . Possess strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. . Excellent working knowledge and command of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. . Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including internal and external constituencies. . A strong team player with a positive attitude who has an earnest desire to grow personally and professionally. . Detail oriented multi-tasker who takes pride in their work, manages their time well and strives to deliver a quality work-product. . Ability to work independently, garners trust for managing a process or direct reports in order to consistently meet deadlines . Medium to Advanced MS Office proficiency skills; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. . Strong presentation skills and aptitude for embracing Information systems to improve existing processes, as needed. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. The position reports to the CFO. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Little to no travel is expected for this position.
