The Marketing Manager position is a cross functional role that works across teams to help support a market and data driven culture. The successful candidate has an understanding and appreciation of how understanding market needs helps shape the development of integrated plans that drive membership and non-dues revenue growth. S/he is an excellent communicator, enjoys a challenge and is interested in an opportunity to grow professionally. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Analyze membership demographics, market data, and product/program data to develop, implement and measure integrated marketing communications campaigns for recruitment, retention and engagement. Collaborate with staff to develop and deliver successful marketing/communications plans for membership, conferences, products, and webinars, including defining objectives, identifying audiences, determining an integrated marketing mix, timeline development, budgeting, execution of all deliverables, and success measurements. Uses the NAEA Website as a marketing tool that captures key engagement data from current and prospective members. Lead the conceptualization, development and production of all print, digital, email, web and social (media) marketing copy, collateral, sales and recruitment materials. Research, write, edit, and distribute targeted and engaging content for email messaging, NAEA announcements, brochures, and other critical communications for internal and external audiences. Manage, analyze and interpret membership and prospect engagement, pipeline, etc. and adjust operating procedures based on meaningful trends. Manage the production and development process of all collateral to include collaborating with external vendors such as graphic designers and printers. In partnership with the Communications Manager, create, write and edit all marketing copy for tone, voice, call to action and accuracy; audit, review and edit existing materials for marketing effectiveness. In collaboration with the Communications Manager, support NAEA website and membership portal, as needed, with creation and maintenance of compelling, targeted copy and content. Additional functions include but are not limited to supporting marketing research and analytics for a variety of NAEA products and services, providing marketing support for membership communities and specialty events as needed. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS. Membership renewal, recruitment and retention equal to or greater than the budget. This is a shared partnership with the Director of Membership. Attendance/participation in educational programming equal to or greater than the budget. This is a shared partnership with the Director of Education. Non dues revenue equal to or greater than the budget. This is a shared partnership with related Directors. Increased email open rates, website usage and engagement across products and services. Cohesive integrated marketing communications strategy with calendar, defined systems and processes and "micro-campaigns" by key initiatives. Error-less marketing communications that are delivered consistently on-time or ahead of schedule. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field. 4-6 years' related experience with demonstrated results. Proven analytical skills and desire to perform market research that informs strategy. Proven ability to manage multiple projects on deadline, which require researching, writing, and editing effective communications, including pipeline management, with competing deadlines and stakeholder. Strong technical skills , including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including PowerPoint, Excel (intermediate level preferred) and Word; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; marketing automation software; email distribution software, Google Analytics and familiarity with AMS/CMS. Experience with content marketing and ad copy development including voice/tone. Strong organizational skills required, including a demonstrated ability to plan and organize work to achieve optimal results with minimal supervision. Creative, innovative and a passion for multimedia. Strong written and verbal communications. Ability to interact with high-level individuals internally and externally, with professionalism and diplomacy. Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience with membership or subscriber marketing a plus. Performance driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated. Ability to travel to meetings and/or annual conference.
