Position Summary: The ideal candidate must apply technical and practical knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and be capable of assuming responsibility to create advanced electrosurgical medical products that meet reliability, schedule, cost, and quality goals. The candidate needs to be able to identify and develop necessary relationships with sales, marketing, management, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and engineering as well as vendors and outside technical resources. The tasks the candidate is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions. This position will report to the VP of Research and Development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: System Integration and PCB Board Design, Layout and Testing Work closely with software and system engineers Regularly perform design verification testing of systems and components for requirements of compliance, reliability, safety, and performance while making recommendations Perform validation protocols for regulatory purposes Qualifications: Engineering Master of Science (MS) required - EE preferred Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer and can demonstrate active engagement in design work during the course of such experience High level of proficiency with all aspects of digital and mixed analog design from conceptualization to final design deployment Understanding of thermal management and passive cooling of complex systems Experience with design for manufacturability, design for test, and design to cost practices required C/C++ Experience with FPGAs Experience with designing for Electromagnetic Compatibility preferred Schematic design expert proficiency with Altium Designer preferred Thorough understanding of good PCB layout design techniques required Proficiency with basic laboratory equipment such as Digital Oscilloscopes, DMM, Power Supply, and Communications Analyzer required
