We are seeking our first Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to join the Finance team and empower executive and department leaders to consistently make strategic, advantageous decisions for and about our business. This individual will have the opportunity to build and own Arcadia Power's entire FP&A practice, including but not limited to the corporate budgeting, product pricing, and financial forecasting & reporting processes. The ideal candidate can manage and model a high level of complexity yet extract and articulate the most pertinent information, and then translate this information into clear context, actionable insights, & useful recommendations for various stakeholders across the organization as well as investors and Board members. This role is based in Washington, DC and will report to the VP, Finance. Additionally, the Director, FP&A will partner closely with Product leadership, collaborate with accounting team members, and consult frequently with managers in nearly every department. Responsibilities Develop and drive our monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting processes; facilitate strategic alignment across senior leadership Track and review actuals versus budget and forecast estimates; prepare appropriate variance explanations on a monthly basis and highlight key performance drivers and recommendations to senior management, holding them accountable when necessary Advise on pricing and other decision-making around new initiatives, products, and business opportunities, applying acute business judgment and rigorous financial analysis & insight Perform sophisticated financial modeling through a bottom-up approach to accurately capture product performance and cash burn Advise executive team on optimal capital allocation and assist with fundraising and scenario planning Assist in preparation of Board presentations and investor reporting Help define and monitor corporate KPIs to measure business results Partner with Accounting Manager to deliver month-end close items (as needed) Requirements BS/BA in finance, accounting, economics, or similar; MBA a plus 3+ years (5-8 preferred) of experience in banking, corporate finance, or FP&A at either a high-growth company or a large, well-established organization (previous experience in the energy industry is a plus) Excel fluency and superior financial modeling, quantitative, and analytical skills; comfort creating scalable models Excellent interpersonal, communication, and storytelling/presentation skills; demonstrated experience or comfort with presenting to senior leaders and/or executives; willingness to offer opinion before being asked A collaborative approach and self-starter attitude Strong understanding of US GAAP; ability to communicate differences in GAAP and cash financials Benefits Market-based compensation (salary + equity) Healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k) and commuter benefits Paid Time Off (holidays, vacation, professional development, volunteer, parental leave) Professional development opportunities Weekly all-company lunches Free clean energy A chance to disrupt the energy sector Equal Opportunity Arcadia Power is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
