The Director, Software Engineering will lead BioTelemetry Research's software strategy, architecture and execution. You will be part of the leadership team and be responsible for the development of the software team, team culture, driving continuous improvement throughout the team, and the successful delivery and support of software products to our customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Identify and communicate the technology vision and roadmap for the BioTel Research division. Delivery of the software product roadmap including hosted services and desktop applications Enforce and adapt the appropriate development process across our software portfolio Software resources management and coordination with development partners Ownership and development of strategic initiatives related to software Conduct managerial tasks related to staffing, counseling and reviewing Travel, as required, to corporate or partner sites for project coordination Education BS Degree in an engineering discipline, MS Degree preferred Relevant Work Experience: 7-10 years as a hands-on developer 7-10 years architecting software systems including loosely coupled services and API s 7-10 years managing developers and multiple concurrent projects Agile leadership, planning and execution Experience working with consulting partners including project definition, Request For Quote/Proposal creation, SOW creation, and acceptance criteria Experience in outsourced and staff augmentation/co-development models and ensuring consistent knowledge and skill sets between internal and multiple external development partners Experience developing software in a regulated environment Experience with medical imaging data management systems (eg PACS, DICOM archive) Experience architecting enterprise solutions with integrations to Salesforce and workflow engines Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Complete familiarity with various software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile Developing in multiple languages including Java, C++, .NET on Windows and Linus based platforms Microsoft Office, Project, Visio Communication Skills (verbal/written): Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technically complex ideas to several different audiences EEO/AAP - BioTelemetry provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.
