Computer Science Education faculty position (open rank, term or tenure-line)

The School of Education in George Mason University's College of Education and Human Development (https://cehd.gmu.edu) seeks a highly collaborative faculty member to lead a new academic program in Computer Science Education.

Responsibilities include: Leading Mason's educator preparation programs in the field of Computer Science Education with an emphasis on secondary education, effective teaching and mentoring, active engagement in research, and seeking external funding. Faculty also are expected to engage in university and professional service activities and contribute to special initiatives and collaborative programs designed to further the mission of the College and School.

Required qualifications include: An earned doctorate in a field related to computer science or engineering education, instructional or learning sciences, or computer science; teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate levels with specific experience in educator preparation; a research agenda and accomplishments pertinent to computer science education; and an ability successfully to seek external funding. It is preferred that applicants have P-12 teaching experience, experience with program leadership and curriculum/course development in higher education, and online teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in the field of engineering education also is highly desired.
