Responsibilities

This position is located in the Facilities Management Branch, Central Office. The incumbent is responsible for the management, coordination, oversight, development and implementation of policy for the Bureau's energy and water conservation programs nationwide. The incumbent provides technical expertise in the design and modernization of existing facilities and ensures consistent application of approved design criteria. The incumbent is responsible for oversight on all energy and water conservation repair and improvement, line item, and buildings and facilities energy and water conservation projects.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.

Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.

Experience:

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.

Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
  • Experience in analyzing information and providing recommendations in regards to the establishment or modification of programs, plans and/or policies relating to energy and water conservation.
  • Experience in providing technical expertise in the design and modernization of existing facilities and ensuring compliance with current energy and water conservation requirements.
  • Experience in modifying standard practices and adapting techniques to solve a variety of complex problems associated with the implementation of programs relating to energy and water conservation.
  • Experience that demonstrates knowledge of construction and trade principles to evaluate the quality of work performed within buildings and facilities.

Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities.

The representative rate for this position is $109,088 per annum ($52.27 per hour).

Special Conditions of Employment Section:

The incumbent is subject to geographic relocation to meet the needs of the agency.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation. All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks.
