Responsibilities

  • Sets up banquet areas, private parties and outside facilities for formal dinner shows, luaus, meetings, conferences, weddings, etc. involving the physical assembly movement and arrangement of furniture and equipment.
  • Sets up stages, dance floors, pianos, runways; assembling required items, and arranging the areas.
  • Restores rooms or areas; removes, transports and stores property and equipment.
  • Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases and detailed procedures following drawings, specifications while utilizing knowledge of project requirements.
  • Operates a complex electric ground cart for movement of food, supplies and equipment

  • Work Schedule: Scheduled to work on a as needed basis to set up and clean for scheduled catered events. To included nights, weekends and holidays. Special catered events would include (Mother's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving).
  • Club Meade Events: The majority of events taking place at Club Meade occur Tuesday through Saturday. Typically set-ups are done during the day to support the evening events.
  • Offsite Events: Occasional offsite catering; in which the incumbent may be asked to help load/unload a vehicle and possibly assist with the offsite event.
  • Working Conditions: Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and exercise proper handling of equipment to avoid serious injury in the work area.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Appointment is subject to successful completion and favorable results of fingerprints, health assessment (physical), and Installation Record Checks to determine suitability for this position.
  • Physical Efforts: Requires frequent lifting and moving of equipment weighing over 50 pounds. Very heavy physical effort is required.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated work experience that included the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position as indicated above.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the process, which requires remembering directions and/or sequences, is required. Skill in performing routine procedures and tasks using small hand tools in the arrangement of stages, platforms, runways, etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Work Schedule: Schedule during the busy months, incumbent would work 30 to 40 hours a week. Schedule during the slow season, incumbent would work less than 20 hours a week.
