Responsibilities

  • You will serve as the focal point for all information technology and communications support issues impacting Marine Corps form schools training.
  • You will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining an effective IT and communications Program for all classified and unclassified hardware, software and network environments.
  • You will be responsible for planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implantation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems.
  • You will conduct trend analysis to identify areas where additional IT support, training, and assistance needed initiating appropriate action.
  • You will monitor performance metrics supporting Training Command and ensures adequate technical support is made available.
  • You will perform the full range of administrative and technical management oversight duties over the daily operations including: technical work planning, and the coordination of task assignments and technical IT operations requirements review.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implantation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems; and conduct trend analysis to identify areas where additional IT support, training, and assistance needed initiating appropriate action.

Education

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Educational Qualification for GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
