Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
You may qualify based on experience, education or a combination of both.
Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer or that experience will not be credited for meeting the specialized experience requirement.
GS-09: To qualify you must have a least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficult and complexity to the GS-7 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a non-Federal service position. This specialized experience must include providing administrative services for an office or organization such as time and attendance, making travel arrangements, reviewing travel vouchers, procurement, and maintaining/tracking accountable property, etc.
GS-11: To qualify you must have a least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficult and complexity to the GS-9 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a non-Federal service position. This specialized experience must include providing 2 or more of the following administrative services for an office or organization: time and attendance, making travel arrangements, reviewing travel vouchers, procurement, maintaining/tracking accountable property.
OR
Education
If qualifying based on education, you must submit transcripts by the closing date of this announcement or you will not be found eligible.
GS-09: Must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field or 2 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
GS-11: Must have a doctorate or equivalent graduate degree in a related field or 3 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
A combination of experience and education as indicated above.
Additional information
If you work or are expected to work at least 90 consecutive days and 130 hours per month, you will become eligible for health insurance benefits only.

Responsibilities
As an Administrative Support Specialist at the GS-0301-9/11, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Coordinating travel plans, airline reservations, rental vehicles, and other travel related needs between travel agencies and ODA HQ and Centers before and during large disaster operations, training sessions, and conferences.
- Managing the issuance, use, and deactivation of employee government travel credit cards, including auditing/reviewing credit card accounts for possible abuse.
- Reviewing travel vouchers for accuracy and adherence to agency and Federal policies.
- Using Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Using various electronic databases and web based systems to run reports and troubleshoot errors in data reporting.
- Communicating clearly, concisely, and courteously through written communications such as email, memos, and reports.

- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
- Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
- Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment (up to seven days a week and ten to fourteen hours a day).
- Credit score must be at least 500.
- You may be required to travel to a disaster site where you may encounter hazardous working conditions and/or minimal lodging facilities.
