Job Description: To design and engineer solutions to customer and bid requirements utilizing a combination of company and vendor manufactured equipment. This design will result in a system that meets the criteria of the customer specifications and meets the technical and policy requirements of the company. Identifies Customer requirements, supports the development of concept of operations documents and high-level system architectures. Supports the design, development, implementation and testing of IT networks (including Wi-Fi environments) and supporting infrastructure. Conducts and documents detailed network site surveys. Supports the development of project Basis of Estimates for new IT-based solution projects. Troubleshoots network connectivity issues and outages in a wired (802.3) and wireless TCP/IP network environment. Identifies and recommends mitigation strategies for network threats and risks. Installs, configures, monitors, or troubleshoots the security monitoring functions of information systems/networks (eg, utilizing network/system analyzers; intrusion detection software; firewalls) or in performance of cyber/network defense operations. Verifies network design and implementations are in compliance with applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Creates and maintains configuration documentation for networks. Supports the execution of IT projects with minimal supervision. Oversees installation support services subcontractors on job sites as required. Local travel (MD, DC, VA area), and some out-of-state US travel is expected to support customer and project requirements (estimated out of town travel 35% of year with 100% reimbursed expenses in accordance with DoD Joint Travel Regulation (JTR)). Required Skills: 3+ years of experience in designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network systems, utilizing TCP/IP protocols, Network virtualization (eg, VMware), VLANs, and network routing/subnetting. 1+ year of experience with designing and deploying Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Mesh Networks BS in Information Technology or Information Systems Management or a similar technical discipline, or 4+ years of directly related experience in addition to the experience elements above. CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent, CCNA or CCNP. Ability to obtain a DoD Industrial security clearance. Security clearances are granted to US citizens. Desired Skills: Current Security Clearance preferred. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills proficiency Willing to travel locally and out-of-state. Willingness to read systems drawings. Willingness to work with minimal supervision. Willing to prioritize and display a sense of urgency based on actions required. Willing to effectively communicate with employees, vendors and customers. Proven ability to conduct accurate vendor analysis. Willingness to demonstrate sense of urgency and instill this in others. Physical Requirements: Willing to lift 50 lbs.
