Swingtech is seeking QA Tester with experience in the federal/defense sphere for this long-term opportunity to support our DoD customer. The QA will support a team providing on-going support in the areas of planning, designing, development, testing, implementation and documentation of web-based intranet applications for one of our prestigious Department of Defense clients. The candidate s primary job location will be on-site at the Customer s facility in Alexandria, VA. Must be a US Citizen with and active DoD Secret Clearance and a Four-year college degree. Job Description: Performs system software testing tasks and activities to include: Tests software for sequence and functionality based on requirement specifications. Identifies and documents exact sequence of activities that produced the malfunction. Writes defect reports, may investigate defect and problem reports. Maintains test environment. Maintains defect database and generates defect reports. Directs or assists with the planning, coordinating, scheduling and controlling of all QA functions Develops test plans, documentation standards, release management plans, configuration management plans, and discrepancy reports with resolutions and metrics. Review project requirements Write and maintain test cases ensuring correct testability at various stages of the SDLC Perform manual testing Perform validations by writing SQL queries against Oracle 12c or MS SQL Server 2012 databases. Develop and execute automated tests Execute performance, operability and serviceability tests Write bug reports and retest once fixed Troubleshoot problems with team support Prepares and coordinates miscellaneous administrative actions and reports, memorandums, staff papers, technical summaries, evaluations, briefings, fact sheets and decision papers as directed. Success in this position requires an assertive, confident attitude and a commitment to working as a part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules. Have the capability to explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language for customer applications. Have the capability to write technical direction on customer Products. Meet with customer representatives to establish technical specifications. Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples from customer. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson. Prepare charts, graphs, or forms to go along with rough drafts. Write clear and concise policies and procedures. Submit draft copies to customer representatives for feedback. Adjust draft copies as necessary, to finalize and proofread for grammar and spelling. ServiceNow experience a plus Required Tasks: Test custom ColdFusion, ServiceNow and .NET software code; debugs, troubleshoots, and resolves software and hardware compatibility and operability issues Follows and executes procedures Follows direction of software development team leads. Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides, user workflows and instruction manuals for customer. Follow a life cycle called document development life cycle. Provide updates and different editions as necessary. Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Release the document following final approval from the customer. Additional Requirements: Bachelor s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience and five to seven year s professional experience. Willingness to work overtime and off-shift when dictated to support business needs. Task driven with ability to work independently. Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships with the team members which fosters team success.
