OCI Associates, Inc. is continuing to grow through our many offices and are currently hiring for a Mechanical Engineer in Washington, DC OCI is not providing relocation stipends and applicant must be willing to relocate to the job if not local. This position has the opportunity for growth, specifically to become the head of one of our Northeat offices in the future. Job Responsibilities: Providing oversight and coordination of projects and working with assigned Project Managers and Senior Engineers to meet client's budget, contract fees, goals, objectives, and deadlines. Developing project schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents. Develop master and project specifications. Supervising and mentoring junior mechanical engineering designers. Complying with quality control policies and procedures. Providing support services during the bidding process, ie, preparing addenda, amendments, and responding to RFI's Performing construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI's, reviewing shop drawings, preparing as-builts, etc. as directed Performing other responsibilities as assigned by the Department Director, Project Managers, and senior management. Responsible for discipline drawing coordination. Developing an accurate, three-dimensional model of the structure with the necessary level of detail using the required Building Information Modeling (BIM) software package, when BIM is a project requirement Develop design options for resolution of system conflicts. Participate in mechanical system selections. Participate in building code analysis process. Coordinate work product with other disciplines. Adhere to project budget and schedule. Qualifications and Desired Skills Mechanical engineering candidates shall have BS degree with 5-10 years' experience. PE registration(preferable). Proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD/Revit is required. Familiarity with current versions of Word, Excel, and engineering software related to system designs and load calculations-Required Advanced knowledge of building, mechanical codes and standards - Required
