Summary/ObjectiveA' of the Position Hayman-Woodward is currently seeking a highly motivated and resourceful LEGAL ASSOCIATES and ATTORNEYS. This role requires writing and editing legal briefs, motions, and memoranda on a variety of immigration issues, as well as being able to represent clients and sign G28. LEGAL ASSOCIATES and ATTORNEYS must be licensed Attorneys to practice law in the United States of America. Prior Experience in Immigration is mandatory, as the passion for impacting people"s life is. Responsibilities Analyzing issues and the raw materials that can be used for clients" cases Organizing them so that they can be written about Producing the first draft Rewriting through several further drafts until the final product is achieved in a persuasive mode that demonstrates writing as an advocate; make sure the analysis leads to a clear answer and must make it easy for your audience to agree. Proposing a strategy to answer the RFEs. Signing the G28. Essential Functions Maintain a prompt system for the timely filing of extensions, petitions, and applications. Draft applications and petitions for filing Immigration cases, developing support letters for the clients according to the queue Coordinate filing of applications and petitions Draft letters and affidavits supporting applications and petitions. Evaluate and organize documents supporting applications and petitions. Research immigrant and nonimmigrant visa alternatives. Function as a liaison between client"s petitions and attorneys. Speaks to the clients whenever they need, clarifying doubts about the questionnaire, or reviewing the support letters if needed. Informs Drafters" Supervisor about critical issues that need special attention, ie, deadlines and demanding clients. Competencies Excel in writing skills, with a persuasive mode that demonstrates writing as an advocate; make sure the analysis leads to a clear answer and must make it easy for your audience to agree A detail-oriented person with strong organizational skills. Excellent communication, customer service, and writing skills are required, as is the ability to be a self-starter that works independently or within a team. Required Education and Experience Immigration Associate The candidate should have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar. Must have 2-5 years' experience of in-depth immigration work performed on a routine daily basis and possess a thorough understanding of EB-1 and EB-2, H, L, E-2, E-3, TN, and O visas, PERMS, immigrant visa petitions, and consular processing. Associate Attorney - Business Immigration The candidate will primarily focus on PERM labor certifications, EB-1, EB-2, and National Interest Waiver in addition to other IV & NIV work. Will report directly to a Partner and work closely with other Associates on the team as well as Paralegals. Must have a JD degree from a US accredited law school with top credentials. Should have 3-5 years of substantial business immigration experience, with 2+ years of working on PERM matters. Must have experience working on IV & NIV matters, specifically EB-1, EB-2, and National Interest Waivers. Spanish speaking skills a huge plus. Immigration Attorney The candidate should have in-depth experience with employment-based immigration cases, including PERM, H-1B, L-1, and E visa matters. Must be proficient in legal research, word processing, and document databases. The candidate must also have experience doing PERM, writing RFE's, O-1's, and, most importantly, someone who has a comprehensive understanding of handling complex H and O cases. Must have 2+ years of substantial employment-based immigration law experience and be in good standing with a state Bar. Fluency in a second language is highly desirable; Portuguese and Spanish would be considered a plus.
