Summary

The purpose of the Experience Project Management Sr. Advisor is to lead large cross functional groups in support of enterprise wide consumer centric projects. The collaboration and management of stakeholders span across all business units.
Responsibilities

The AARP Experience Project Management Sr. Advisor manages large cross functional and enterprise wide efforts. The Project Management Sr. Advisor oversees the full project lifecycle including process, people and technology of highly complex, large-scale, strategic business initiatives while ensuring the AARP Experience vision principles and Consumer Commitments achieved.

Position responsibilities include:

Support Peer AARP Experience teams: Work closely with AARP Experience Design, VoC and Experience Metrics teams to review business case justifications and understand the cost, benefit, and risks of not initiating project/capabilities. Provide technology expertise to ensure experience needs can be supported through existing capabilities.

Collaborate with technology teams: Work with systems architects and other technology teams to develop solutions that meet the needs of the business as well as support the AARP Experience Principles. Develop and establish policies, system monitoring and controls to ensure the successful management and reporting of all enterprise initiatives within the program.

Recommend and gain agreement on collaboration tools: Ensure effective tools are utilized for complex projects which fit the size and scope of projects. These tools will give all stakeholders the ability to communicate effectively, access key documents including Charters, business requirements, key decisions, trade-off trackers and any other pertinent documents critical to project success.

Project Management: Supervise and lead large groups of stakeholders needed for enterprise-wide projects. Oversee the impacts and interdependencies between teams and work to ensure initiatives meet the goals and objectives of the executive leadership team. Oversee and maintain overarching project plans that reflect milestones, schedules, key dates, progress against targets, and risks. Act as the one point of contact for project statuses. Facilitate executive reviews and updates as needed.

Process Management: Participate in key organization wide projects that will require the leading the documenting of current state processes. Work with key teams to identify areas where process improvements can be achieved through improved workforce management and integration of current systems and process always keeping the consumer experience in mind.
Requirements

This position requires a college degree and 7+ years in a Project Management Office. The candidate should have previous experience working with Systems Architects and other technology teams to develop solutions. The candidate needs to be PMP certified and have a working knowledge of both waterfall and agile methodologies. This candidate should have superior organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and manage multiple projects at one time. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional groups to move projects forward. The ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing at all levels is a requirement.
