Senior Network Engineer - On Premises and Cloud Do you have networking experience in a data center environment ? Do you have experience setting up networking for cloud environments ? Do you have experience supporting technical government contracts? Do you enjoy being a trusted advisor and providing technical support to your client? As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work alongside Government clients in a data center facility. You will provide hands on support for networking activities related to the agency's MPLS backbone network, data and voice networks, and connectivity with Cloud Service Providers (CSP). You will support technical, documentation, security, change management, and governance tasks as part the Enterprise Networks team. Come be a part of the transformation and modernization of IT systems at the US Treasury. Description: You will be a key resource in ensuring the Government's network operations are met. You will serve as a Senior Network Engineer performing hands on technical activities at the agency's data centers. In addition, you will be architecting, designing, and implementing hybrid solutions across on premises and cloud infrastructures. This role will serve both unclassified and classified infrastructures for the agency in support of mission critical services and applications. This position will require on-site work in Washington, DC with limited telework options available given the nature of the operational work. Primary duties include but are not limited to: . Cisco routing and switching. . Cisco ASA firewall management. . Cloud networking configuration in AWS and/or Azure . Network monitoring and troubleshooting. . Network systems and technical documentation. . Network system design and optimization recommendations. Required Qualifications: . 10+ years of relevant experience in IT networking . Demonstrated hands-on experience and proficiency with Cisco technology - routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs . Solid understanding of WAN/LANs, network operating systems, enterprise architectures, routing and transport protocols . Proven WAN/LAN systems engineering, configuration, analysis, implementation, and troubleshooting skills . ACL management . Experience working in Solarwinds and Kiwi . Experience developing network change requests for firewalls, routing, switching, proxy services, VPN, DNS, mail, and public cloud service deployments . Experience providing problem identification, escalation and resolution of WAN/LAN performance, hardware, network carriers, and security issues in cooperation with the network services provider and Government agency customers . Experience identifying routing and network access control requirements & resolution of related issues . Experience analyzing network traffic and providing recommendations for issue resolution, optimization and configuration enhancements (eg, QoS, TCP optimization) . Experience assisting customers with developing and troubleshooting network firewall access control policies . Experience designing and configuring VPCs in AWS and virtual networks in Azure . Experience providing technical consulting and engineering support to government program and project managers . Direct or indirect Federal Government experience . Strong written and oral communication skills . Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and environment . Technical degree in engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or field of study related to IT . Candidate must be able to successfully complete a Federal background investigation Additional/Preferred Qualifications: . Experience establishing hybrid networking between on premises data centers and CSPs . Ability to optimize network architecture and design for cost . CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or other network or telecommunications vendor certifications . Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification
