Reports to: Managing Director Objectives & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for all USQBC publications, marketing materials and communications. The Publications and Communications Associate writes, reviews, edits and publishes USQBC weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc publications. S/He is responsible for the production of all publication content, promotional brochures, newsletters, social media outlets, media releases, advertising, and other internal/external communications, with support on technical expertise from the research team. The Publications and Communications Associate will also assume the responsibility for USQBC's brand management and messaging. In addition to the publication's responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to assist the business Engagement and Membership Managers by providing information and material on the Qatari or US markets. Responsibilities: Research, write, fact-check, edit, and post/place articles/releases for USQBC events and programs Produce content for publications and multimedia material, including but not limited to: USQBC newsletters, promotional initiatives, and collateral material as assigned. May include some photography. Coordinating content with various contributors, authoring content, editing all content, and desktop publishing (layout, formatting, etc.). Produce content for collateral material for the Membership Department and its programs, membership and event recruitment, special events, program guides, and general business development initiatives of USQBC. Initiate and execute improvements to all USQBC publications Respond to in-bound media inquiries and track all local media coverage of USQBC and its members. Perform all functions for event preparation, inclusive of securing a site, preparing press packets and media advisories/invitations, and arranging audio/visual needs. Work with the Managing Director and Membership Manager to craft and execute brand messaging to support recruitment and retention of membership. Produce and coordinate information for the website and social media platforms of USQBC. Stay current on all economic, business, and political developments in Qatar. Works with the Managing Director on production of project-based presentations, including PowerPoint, signage, electronic communications, and brochures/flyers, among others. Write for external publications, as assigned. Support Managing Director, and the USQBC team to deliver press releases and pro-active pitches for media placements Development of internal/external communication and media plans to promote USQBC programs, events, and initiatives. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports of external communications and local media coverage. Prepare quarterly analyses on communication vehicles, inclusive article topics, readership rates, and distribution channels. Maintain an active distribution database for all vehicles, including web analytics. Skills & Requirements: . Extensive experience with publication production, inclusive of scheduling design, photography, and writing. . Knowledge of basic brand principles and public relations functions. . Knowledge of spreadsheet, database/content management systems, and web-based technologies and formats . Knowledge of media outlets and how to engage editors and journalists . Knowledge in the use of social media applications, such as blogs, social network sites, wikis, RSS feeds, and newsgroups . Knowledge of e-marketing . Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, The Adobe Suite (specifically InDesign), Mailchimp, and Constant Contact. . Excellent written communication skills. . Ability to manage a significant workload and meet multiple deadlines. . Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with the news media as well as the general public. . Skill in developing, implementing and maintaining information for multiple communication channels. . Skill in writing to diverse audiences . 2-3+ years-experience in the communications field. BA in public relations, marketing, communications, business, English or related field. Benefits: .
