Position Title: Instructional Designer/Education Content ManagerLocation: SFPE Headquarters, 9711 Washingtonian Blvd, Gaithersburg, MDFull/Part-time: Full Time, Exempt positionOrganizational relationshipsA' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Reports to: Education/Content DirectorA' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Coordinates with: All staff, volunteer leaders and contractorsA' OVERVIEW This position is responsible for managing the development (design and implementation) of educational content for the Society, working closely with members and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create the content, and delivering the content for in-person and online environments. A' FUNCTIONSContent Development (80%) "A cents € oe Work with SFPE"A cents " cents s Standing Committee on Professional Development to develop educational programs aligned with the profession"A cents " cents s identified core competencies, including a core curriculum for fire protection engineering, a new PE Exam Preparation course, and advanced engineering programs on specialized topics. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course contentA' Manages and/or collaborates with subject matter experts in the design and delivery of education programs Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience"A cents " cents s training needsSet instructional end goals and create content that matches themVisualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished productAnalyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional designA' Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning processCreate supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the courseMaintain project documentation and course foldersManage content on the Society"A cents " cents s Learning Management System (LMS)Management of LMS (10%) "A cents € oe Maintain and manage the online LMS, in all functions Coordinate learning management systems (LMS) and facilitate a virtual learning environment Accreditation (10%) A' -- Develop and maintain existing accreditations around education and continuing education as well as monitor changes to accreditation standards and market trends.POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor"A cents " cents s degree or at least two years related work experience in instructional design, educational technology or similar fieldIn-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design modelsLesson and curriculum planning skillsProficient with eLearning development tools (eg Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate)Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledgeVisual design skills (eg Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)A' Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scriptsUp to 10% travelA' APPLICATION PROCESSTo apply, please send a cover letter, resume and salary requirements to lguerrazzi@.
