McCormick Taylor is looking for exceptional candidates for the position of Traffic Project Engineer for our Baltimore, MD office. Responsibilities This individual will primarily be helping with and managing various tasks on traffic engineering projects. The primary duties of the Traffic Project Engineer include working as part of a traffic team, under the direction of the group manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for various transportation projects. Projects are likely to range from small scale studies and/or designs for rural or isolated intersections, to the development of complex solutions for urban arterial networks and major freeway systems. The position will entail traffic engineering design, including traffic signal, signing and pavement markings, ITS, lighting, and maintenance of traffic, as well as traffic engineering analysis, including traffic impact analysis, capacity analysis, traffic simulation modeling, and crash/safety studies. Qualifications The successful candidate should possess at least 7+ years of experience or equivalent working knowledge/experience in the field of traffic engineering Experience and knowledge of Maryland guidelines and requirements The candidate must have hands-on experience with common traffic engineering software including Synchro, HCS, MicroStation In addition, the candidate will be expected to be proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Power Point at a minimum Education Requirements The successful candidate must possess a BS degree in Civil Engineering with Traffic Engineering electives, from an accredited institution A PE is required, or ability to obtain within six months PTOE is a plus
