Minimum Qualifications :

Education
  • High school diploma or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

Experience
  • For General Mechanic, Industrial Control, HVAC, Boiler Chiller, Plumber,or Fire Equipment Technician Supervisor : Four (4) years of technical experience performing equipment maintenance as a General Equipment Mechanic, Industrial Control Technician, HVAC Mechanic, Boiler Chiller Operator, Plumber, Fire Equipment Technician or related job.

License:
  • Possession of a valid District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia motor vehicle operator's permit issued from the jurisdiction of residence
  • Plumbing Supervisor : Possession of a Master Plumber's License, a Journeyman Gasfitter's License and a Cross Connection Certification Certificate from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission .

Job Summary/Duties :

The Supervisor, Craft Crew is responsible for inspection, installation, repair, replacement of mechanical equipment systems and inspection, repair renovation and construction of facilities throughout the Metro system. The incumbent supervises crews made up of one or more crafts which may include: carpentry, masonry, plumbing, surface finishing, welding, sheet metal, machining, graphics, heating and air conditioning, fire protection, equipment operations, heavy cleaning operations, mechanical equipment or industrial controls maintenance. The work is technical in nature in one or more of the following; equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or heavy equipment operations.
