Responsibilities

  • Serve as Synchronization Staff Officer (SSO), Action Officer (AO), and principal representative for G8, Force Development Directorate in matters pertaining to one or more assigned systems.
  • Manage those assigned systems to ensure manpower, money, and material resources are properly allocated to support timely development, procurement, and fielding of new items and appropriate cascading of replaced items.
  • Evaluate capabilities of programs to accomplish Army missions and functions and justifies programs and budget to ensure systems are fielded in a coordinated manner to support Army forces.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing assistance at meetings which address the resolution of critical system related issues; evaluating capabilities of programs to accomplish agency missions and functions; assisting with developing new acquisition strategies to meet agency priorities; developing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) requirements and input into assigned systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

  • This position is a term position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
