Summary

The Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) is responsible for strategic planning, performance measurement, data stewardship, business intelligence, program evaluation, and analytics. The ORE employs three categories of staff: IT Specialists, Social Science Analysts, and Statisticians who routinely lead or support projects of varying technical demands to the operational challenges of a criminal justice agency.

Builds strong working, collaborative relationships with representatives from different program offices throughout the enterprise to develop reporting requirements.

Learns from, business process owners to understand the semantic meaning of transactional records and translates that understanding into the design of reports and visualizations that improve operational effectiveness.

Proposes and develops opportunities to derive additional value from existing data assets through augmentation, transformation, integration, and/or aggregation.

Proposes and implements ways to improve data quality and discoverability through testing, documentation, cleansing, and metadata management.
Monitors and analyzes patterns of BI report utilization in search of opportunities to enhance usability and identify low-value reports for discontinuation or revision.

A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Qualifications

Example of specialized experience for positions at the GS-13 level, typically gained in the IT field or through performance of work where the primary concern is IT, includes experience analyzing a number of alternative approaches when advising management concerning major aspects of IT system design. The experience demonstrates accomplishment of IT project assignments requiring knowledge of IT requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled.

Generally, preference is granted to veterans who entered military service prior to October 14, 1976; or served on active duty during the period from August 2, 1990, through January 2, 1992, and who are otherwise eligible; or who served on active duty during the period beginning September 11, 2001, and ending on the last day of Operation Iraqi Freedom; or who have served in a military action for which they received a Campaign Badge or Expeditionary Medal. You will need to submit a Standard Form (SF) 15 and proof of your claim.
