Responsibilities

This position is located in the Office of Assisted Acquisition Services, Federal Systems Integration Management Center (FEDSIM). The Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) delivers value through acquisition, project management and financial management excellence. AAS works with agency programs, financial, contracting and legal counsel to ensure requirements are met on time, within budget, and at reduced risk, resulting in best value solutions.

We are currently filling three vacancies, However additional vacancies may be filled through this announcement or other GSA organizations within the same commuting area. You will be responsible for the following:
  • Recommends timelines for project completion, implementing a system for review, control, and reporting on project status.
  • Recommends resources to achieve project goals while managing scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects.
  • Determines project risk, assesses project activities and resources to mitigate risk on behalf of the government.
  • Participates in the analysis of customer needs and identifies key technical and resource personnel to work on various aspects of projects.

  • Implements quality assurance processes to ensure all aspects of the project are handled in a professional manner.

The GS-9 salary range in Norfolk, VA starts at $51, 546 per year.

The GS-9 salary range in Fort Bragg, NC starts at $53, 361 per year.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

To qualify for the GS-09, you must demonstrate one year of experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience applying basic project/program management techniques and procedures, applying specifications and requirements; assisting with the design and coordination of schedules; assisting with the review of project/program requirements including the tracking of expenses and funding for the purpose of improving projects/programs performance. OR

Have a master's or equivalent level degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or JD. This education provided you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR

Possess a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.

GS-11 LEVEL:

Specialized experience is experience applying advanced project/program management techniques and procedures, applying specifications and requirements; design and coordinate schedules; review of project/program requirements including the tracking of expenses and funding for the purpose of improving projects/programs performance. OR

Have 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. This education provided you the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR

Have a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.

GS-12 LEVEL:

Specialized experience is defined as experience participating as a project team member on information technology or professional services requirements to assist with: analyzing customer requests; providing solutions for customer requirements; communicating orally and in writing to accurately translate a variety of requirements to meet the diverse needs of federal agencies and; managing information technology and professional service projects, to include preparing plans, monitoring expenses and funding for assigned tasks.
