Scientist III position in the Cell Biology R&D team responsible for supporting and developing novel technologies within Thermo Fisher Scientific Cell Biology portfolio. The individual will be expected to support cross-functional development teams as well as conduct scientific research with minimal supervision within a biological laboratory environment. What will you do?Perform product development under Product Commercialization Process (PCP) guidelinesDesign and execution of experiments with minimal supervisionDevelop applications data supporting new and existing products within Cell Biology portfolioWorks on problems where analysis of situation or data requires a review of multiple identifiable factors.Maintain laboratory notebookComply with all company safety regulations and procedures.Suggest improvements in safety and productivity based on solid technical understanding of expected R&D outcomes.May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.Some travel may be required to attend conferences and customer visits.The position may require non-standard working hours (evenings and weekends) for maintenance of cell culture experiments, as needed. How will you get here? MS, 5-8 years' experience or PhD, 0-3 years' experience; industry or post-doctoral experience preferred.Background in cell biology, molecular biology, stem cells, cancer, organoids or other closely related discipline. Strong stem cell culture and cell-based assays experience is required.Experience culturing and assaying spheroids/organoids (or other 3D cell model) is required.Strong knowledge of organoid model systems is required.Experience working with human tissue and/or animal tissues is preferred.Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including but not limited to qPCR, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA required.Demonstrated ability to formulate and solve problems.Ability to work flexible 40hr schedule (eg. nights and weekends as based on project requirements).Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret, summarize, and present scientific results in a clear, concise, accurate manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesWorks in an office and laboratory environment.Must be comfortable working with bio-hazardous materials (eg. human and animal tissue) and chemicals given proper safety equipment.Regular 40hr work week with non-standard night and weekend work based on project assigned.
