Responsibilities: Install, maintain, repair, and optimize the broadband, twisted pair and fiber optic infrastructure in accordance with industry standards. Assist with the maintenance of data and video segments of the Lab-wide network. Provide general troubleshooting and resolution of network problems. This shall include CATV components, network wiring, ethernet devices and the identification of host-based hardware or software issues. Rack mount and install network equipment including UPS, ethernet switches and wireless APs. Maintain inventory management and follow procedures for equipment surplus and disposal. Prepare documentation on the LAN systems for use by Operational Network personnel and customers. Prepare recommendations for modifications to the LAN including feasibility studies on new systems, changes to existing systems, system and network installation and maintenance. Provide status reports indicating planned, completed and future work histories on a monthly basis to the government Program Manager. Qualifications: Active Secret clearance required. Cabling experience with CAT6 and Fiber Required BICSI () or equivalent training/certification is desired Must be proficient with installation codes, practices and procedures, including EIA/TIA standards, manufacturer recommendations, and OSHA standards. Must have at least a High School Diploma and 4 years of experience.
