AIA's Space Systems Division coordinates, formulates, and advocates for space policies and programs important to the US space industry and supports efforts to foster US space leadership and capabilities. We are looking for an Assistant Vice President for the Space Systems division to support the Vice President of Space Systems and provide policy leadership on national security space issues. Primary duties include representing industry views and interests through regular writing and speaking opportunities, developing consensus industry positions on national security space matters, and managing the membership and activities of AIA's national security space committee. Core Duties and Responsibilities: This position reports to the Vice President of Space Systems and works directly with staff at all levels across the Association, as well as Member Companies. Closely follows development and maintains subject matter level expertise on US and global national security space policy events and activities Provides thought leadership on national security space issues, including regular writing and speaking at public and AIA member specific activities Regular interactions with Executive Branch, Congress, and other stakeholders in national security space arena Coordinates, participates, and attends AIA national security space meetings, conferences, and Congressional events Develops and provides national security space content for regular communications to member companies Maintains ties with AIA membership companies to ensure AIA national security members are active and updated Responsible for quarterly meeting convening AIA members and government officials to discuss national security space architectures Responsible for maintaining awareness of member programs and milestones in national security space Coordination lead with AIA National Security division on all national security space activities and all AIA divisions active on cyber issues Attends local national security space policy events and may be required to travel nationally and internationally to support events.
