Senior Counsel, Enforcement serves as legal counsel representing BSA member company interests in North America and EMEA. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the end user enforcement programs' operations throughout the regions are consistent with the strategic interests of BSA member companies; managing the day to day execution of the programs' operating plans; and other duties as assigned from time to time by BSA's Associate General Counsel and Senior Director, Enforcement. Professional Experience and Qualifications: Juris Doctor and DC bar admission required with 4 to 6 years of legal experience in law firm or in-house law department Litigation, enforcement, or regulatory compliance experience required, with preference for civil litigation in Federal courts Hands-on, practical approach to the law and experience working with information technology and copyright issues is highly favored Solid, demonstrable negotiating skills Management of outside counsel, as well as oversight of a large portfolio of cases Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive client-attorney relationships with evidence of ability to represent varied yet related client interests Domestic and international experience preferred Ability to analyze data in order to establish and track annual budgets, operating plans, as well as case and member metrics Proven track record of developing and maintaining collegial work relationships Ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-focused, and capable of inspiring trust and confidence Key Responsibilities: Managing outside counsel to drive efficient results that are consistent with the programs' operating plans, as well as member objectives Overseeing investigations of and negotiations with corporate end-users suspected of engaging in copyright infringement Developing and maintaining consistent enforcement procedures and protocols Ensuring processes are operating efficiently Reporting to and communicating with BSA staff and member companies in relation to specific matters and issues Effective budget management, including active supervision of enforcement activities and related costs Other legal duties as assigned
