Farragut Square is looking to expand by hiring a senior analyst/associate/AVP - level Policy Research Staffer. Our ideal candidate has a Capitol Hill/healthcare consulting or lobbying firm research background and is looking to use that base of policy knowledge to branch out into the capital markets by working with Private Equity clients. The person will perform in-depth diligence for healthcare advisory projects, helping our investor clients buy and build companies. Projects typically center around Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement changes, including coding analysis. Opportunity, depending on level of experience, to also get involved in pitching projects and/or managing project flow and research resources. About the company: Farragut Square Group was 8 years old when it was acquired this summer by McDermottPlus Consulting, the Washington, DC-based advisory subsidiary of McDermott Will & Emery. The company is a healthcare research and advisory firm that works with Private Equity investors and their portfolio companies, as well as with bankers, lenders and healthcare corporates, helping them get clarity and confidence around regulatory, reimbursement and payment risk. This is an ideal position for someone with a background in healthcare policy to stand at the intersection of policy formulation and research that leads to actionable, financially-backed outcomes. About the candidate: This hire will be a part of an expanding team responsible for determining the impact of government legislation, regulations, and oversight on the healthcare industry and prognosticating trends. Responsibilities will depend on level of experience. This hire will research key legislation and regulations in healthcare - Federal and State - and deliver their results on client calls and advisory projects. Candidates should have 3 or more years of experience in health policy, with a solid understanding of Medicare and Medicaid, or experience with healthcare services payment systems, or annual regulations that govern those systems. The ideal team member is independent, creative, and driven to succeed - with exceptional writing, communications, and networking skills. Qualifications: 3-10 years of healthcare policy experience. Years of relevant experience determine level of responsibility and title. . Healthcare-related Capitol Hill, consulting company, agency, advocacy, or association background ideal. . Interest in working with healthcare-focused institutional investors. . Excellent oral communication and writing skills, along with a desire to learn how to discern and interpret complicated government rules and regulations. This role involves relaying research to senior staff who present findings to clients on calls and written deliverables. And or depending on level of experience - will involve being primary on written deliverables and or pitching and closing business. . Strong desire to perform in-depth research on healthcare services sectors for diligence and advisory projects. . Ability to engage in policy discussion with healthcare associations and stakeholders for diligence projects. .
