Overview Clinical Co-Director, Cardiovascular Medicine (3-309-1019)- The Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for a clinical cardiologist to co-direct our Cardiovascular Medicine Division. This position will be responsible for the overall clinical direction of the Division and for fostering highly collaborative efforts with our clinical partners across the University of Maryland Medical System. Successful candidates will focus on service lines to enhance the local, regional and national reputation of the division and will grow procedure volumes and market share for cardiology patient services. Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical skills with a strong commitment and experience in patient care and teaching, as well as a history of successful clinical research. We expect that this position will participate in all aspects of the clinical cardiology programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown and midtown campuses) and the Baltimore VA Medical Center, and also anticipate that this position will encourage and promote commercialization of technology, as well as increase clinical research activities. This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and successful fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine. Candidates must also be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license and be board certified in cardiovascular medicine.
