Summary

You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Logistics Division, Property Management Branch of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS).

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the safe and secure movement, storage, tagging, crating, packing, redistribution, and disposal of medical research and teaching equipment (e.g. liquid scintillation counters, hoods, sterilizers, etc.)
  • You will be responsible for processing documents and verifying the quantity and conditions of materials and equipment.
  • You will be responsible for orderly locating and storing material in proper place such as a property cage, warehouse, or storage building.
  • You will receive and respond to equipment/furniture requests by instructing requestor on appropriate procedures.
  • You will operate a forklift and other Government vehicles up to and including 5-ton trucks.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Work may require lifting and moving objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
