The National Association of Spine Specialists' (NASS) government affairs office in Washington DC is seeking an Assistant Manager of Government Affairs. The position is responsible for federal government advocacy and will work with the Director of Government Affairs to develop and implement strategy for NASS Advocacy. This includes direct contact with NASS committee members and members of Congress. Be a part of our effort to eliminate hurdles that threaten spine care providers and patients!A' Washington DC Duties and Responsibilities:A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' |A' Assist in development of NASS responses/positions. A' |A' Monitor federal, state and private sector activities involving health care policy. A' |A' Assist with NASS responses/positions/comments in compliance with Association policies.A' |A' Track and analyze proposed legislation/regulations and draft reports on impact to NASS membership and their patients. A' |A' Provide staff support to NASS Advocacy Council and Board of Directors, including attending meetings and preparing and disseminating agendas and reports.A' |A' Assist in development of NASS strategies related to legislative, regulatory and political matters.A' |A' Assist in coordinating state advocacy efforts with federal strategies.A' |A' Attend fundraisers for members of Congress or Congressional candidates on behalf of SpinePAC.A' |A' Assist in fundraising for, and administration of, SpinePAC, the only political action committee solely dedicated to the spine care community. A' |A' Establish and maintain contacts with relevant medical organizations and other health-related organizations and agencies.RequirementsBachelor's degree required.Experience in policy with federal government, private sector and/or other health-related organization.
