SUMMARYOur Federal agency client is seeking a Junior Communications Specialist to provide communications campaign planning and implementation services to assist Federal personnel in enhancing awareness, action, and understanding of cybersecurity activities. This position will also provide conference and event support services to assist Federal personnel in planning and executing agency-sponsored events, and media relations support services, and planning and coordinating engagement for agency senior leadership. This position requires a candidate who is naturally curious and quick to absorb information across a multitude of topics, and who is motivated by continuous improvement and learning. The candidate should bring diverse viewpoints and ideas to projects and have an interest in applying learned knowledge or experience to form practical solutions. This position will collaborate closely with a team of functional specialists.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and execute marketing, PR, and strategic communications best practicesConduct research to gain insight into approaches for raising public awareness of cybersecurityResearch, analyze, interpret, and distill target insights and across a broad array of audience segments and stakeholder groupsDevelop and execute communications strategies and associated products to advance and promote cybersecurity actions aligned with relevant observed months and daysProvide support to recurring daily, weekly, and monthly campaign activities, to include managing campaign mailboxes, coordinating logistics for partner calls and meetings, capturing and distributing minutes from internal planning and external partner meetings, producing quarterly reports for campaign activities, and supporting partner recruitment activitiesMeasure cybersecurity attitudes and actions among the general public and use findings to improve, refine and enhance campaigns and other deliverablesDevelop, produce, and provide associated fulfillment services for public service advertising among consumer and business media channelsPromote strategic partnerships with organizations at the national, regional, and local levels to advance cybersecurity messagingDevelop infographics and content to enhance cybersecurity awareness actions relevant to the general public as well as for specific segments or marketsSupport event planning, materials development, and logisticsDevelop strategic communications plans, engagement strategies, and researchSupport digital media contentProvide media engagement strategies, analysis, and preparationREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLCurrently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness DeterminationBS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related fieldMinimum of three (3) years of experience in assisting in planning the strategic direction and development of a comprehensive PR campaigns.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in working with client and project team membersLOCATIONOn-site in Arlington, VA
