Smithsonian Media is seeking an experienced Digital Ad Operations Manager and Ad Planner to be actively involved in the management and optimization of all aspects of digital advertising placements, both direct and programmatic, for Smithsonian Media's websites and mobile platforms, including , and . This role can be located in either of our Washington, DC or New York, NY offices.A' Essential Duties Include:Manages the planning, implementation, execution and optimization of digital advertising campaigns across all Smithsonian Media properties, including , and .Collaborates with sales and digital teams to formulate and create strategic media plans that meet clients' objectives for both incoming RFPs and proactive proposals.Traffics digital advertising campaigns in Google Ad Manager (formerly DoubleClick for Publishers) and programmatic platforms. Ensures on-time deployment and accuracy.Works directly with agencies and clients to set timelines and gather assets and approvals in a timely and professional manner. Serves as the ad operations contact for all direct-sold advertising campaigns.Manages the implementation of native content and video placements through ad servers, on-site and on platforms.Monitors all direct, native and programmatic campaigns daily for performance using metrics from a variety of sources, as needed, including Google Ad Manager (formerly DoubleClick for Publishers), Google Analytics, video players, social platforms and third-party measurement tools.Manages the optimization of ongoing campaigns based on performance metrics.Configures and manages the programmatic advertising set-up, using sales data to set priority between providers in order to optimize revenue across all ad positions.Manages relationships with ad serving platforms, ad networks and third-party advertising vendors.Conducts monthly reports analyzing site yield and ad performance and identifies opportunities to correct inefficiencies and improve overall revenue.Works with the Director of Audience, Product & New Business Development to create yearly and monthly budget projections for programmatic and remnant advertising income and managing networks to meet set goals.Researches, analyzes and reports on advertising market trends in order to provide strategic direction to the sales, marketing, content and product development teams.A' What we're looking for:Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline.A' Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in digital ad sales operations, preferably for an online media publicationA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Work experience with Google Ad Manager or a similar ad server, web content management systems and basic HTML. A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Strong analytics skills, extreme attention to detail and the ability to handle several projects at once under deadline pressure are essential.A' A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Ability to analyze the key metrics needed to measure success & synthesize actionable next stepsA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Must be fluent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and possess strong communication skills, particularly the ability to interpret data and convey technical details to a variety of audiences.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Proven ability to work effectively with both internal team members from multiple divisions and outside clients.
