Title: Business Engagement Manager Reports to: Managing Director Objectives & Responsibilities: The Business Engagement Manager will examine, evaluate, and research new business opportunities for USQBC members. The Business Engagement Manager is responsible for providing relevant and up-to-date information about various aspects of business development and market information for companies. The Business Engagement Manager will also be responsible for distilling information and developing ideas for how a company should approach the US and Qatari markets, presenting analyses and findings to USQBC senior management. The Business Engagement Manager will communicate information about foreign business investments, opportunities, and competitive market players. Most of the work of The Business Engagement Manager will be researching the Qatari and US markets and making researched-based predications on the viability of these markets. S/He will deliver business analyses to USQBC clients. After completing research on specific topics, s/he will propose recommendations to the company based on the research plus the practical experience of USQBC staff. The Business Engagement Manager should be able to discuss business practices and legal implications of owning a business in the US and Qatar. The Business Engagement Manager may work with companies that are already established in international markets or with companies that are planning initial international expansions or investments. S/He will assess a company's product line and provide recommendations to be a competitive exporter. S/He will identify foreign customers, assist with information on local registrations and regulatory compliances, and help with arranging meetings with distributors. S/He will also advise on local regulations, advise on product adaptation, and help with market entry strategies The Business Engagement Manager will work to develop programs that can help support member companies and provide a platform to disseminate information on both the US and Qatari markets. S/he will create presentations and engage with companies to facilitate business engagements between the two countries. S/he will work with visiting officials to arrange meetings, facilitate events and programs and travel with USQBC to present business opportunities in different parts of the United States. Skills & Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful marketing/business development experiences within a variety of industries that are concentrated in new business development within a fast-paced and high-growth environment. S/He should possess a strong business management or administration background as well as awareness of foreign policies, business regulations, and political developments in Qatar that may affect foreign businesses. The candidate must have excellent communication and research skills. Demonstrated performance with extensive experience in analysis and development of new business and/or new product development & marketing experience in a service sector. International experience preferred. Consulting experience working directly with senior management and C-Level executives Knowledge of basic business practices, including company finance and structures Familiarity with international trade and mechanics of exporting. Understanding of the Qatari/Middle East business environment. Advanced internet research skills to produce high-quality market research and company due diligence. Strong skills in project management, strategic planning, problem-solving, and multi-tasking. Advanced level of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills Ability to network and cultivate strong business relationships Ability to work positively and effectively with internal and external professionals, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility Commitment to teamwork and continuous self-improvement Proficient & computer savvy with Microsoft Office Minimum BS/BA degree required.
