Our client, a global professional services company is seeking an HR Business Partner for their Baltimore area office. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, this is a regional role for an HR Business Partner who wants to increase the depth and breadth of their skills. This is a role that will focus on immediate alignment of recent acquisitions, technical systems rollouts, performance management initiatives, training and long-term process building. This is a role for someone who wants to increase HR's presence amongst employees, building relationships and understanding the needs of employees at the local, regional and national levels. What you will focus on Employee Relations. You will oversee the day-to-day guidance of managers and employees with a focus on policy interpretation and issue resolution. You will: Respond to employee inquiries/complaints ensuring appropriate documentation, follow-up, responsiveness and thorough communication Facilitate ADA, FMLA, and other leave cases Reporting and Metrics. You will leverage HR systems to retrieve data and produce key metrics on a weekly/monthly basis to identify HR opportunities and challenges impacting the business. Research HR best practices. You will research, analyze and identify: Appropriate resources on conflict and issues resolution Best practice guidelines for the development of initiatives, programs and policies. Recruitment Support, Onboarding and Orientation. You will be involved in the end-to-end recruitment process with a focus on onboarding and orientation. You will: Support recruitment activities such as preparing job descriptions, interviewing candidates, and conducting background checks Coordinate onboarding and successful transition of new hires by issuing employment offers and managing the employee orientation program Conduct and initiate new hire and exit surveys, as well as report on findings HR Projects and Administration. You will drive HR projects and oversee general HR process and policy administration within your region. You will: Create and update employee files in a secure and confidential manner Partner with members of the HR team to ensure that business, HRIS, legislative and other requirements are met Proactively identify solutions to simplify, automate and improve processes and follow-ups Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR programs and initiatives that promote individual and corporate performance. What do you bring The ideal combination of education and experience. You have a degree in Human Resources or a related discipline and 7 or more years in Human Resources. SHRM designation or in pursuit of the designation is desirable. The expertise. You have deep experience in: Policy building and interpretation Conflict resolution Strong technical skills The knowledge. You are familiar with employment law across states, employee relations and HR best practices. The accountability. You have excellent written and spoken communication skills. You know how to listen and how to elicit information from any level of employee. The relationship building skills. You have a strong ability to synthesize information, analyze data and provide a summary of analysis. The administrative soft skills. You can expertly balance conflicting priorities of demanding and diverse client groups within a changing environment. You are logical with sound judgement. You are resourceful researcher and you are process-oriented with excellent attention to detail. The technology. You have experience with MS Office and HRIS systems. Workday would be beneficial.
