IT-CNP, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a multi-platform server environment including server and software installation, configuration, maintenance, configuration management, patch management, security compliance and troubleshooting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A cents € cents Develop, document and maintain good operating practices and procedures associated with support and maintenance of server environments A cents € cents Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations A cents € cents Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems A cents € cents Lead strategic planning and development associated with system support A cents € cents Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made A cents € cents Conducts system security configuration and testing based on organizational guidance, policies and procedures A cents € cents Provide senior level support and communicate periodically with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements and potential impacts A cents € cents Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software A cents € cents Perform other related duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS A cents € cents 5-7 years of experience of LAN/WAN engineering, maintenance, support & design A cents € cents CCNP certification is a minimum along with a CISSP is a plus A cents € cents Experience with Cisco Firewalls, VPN appliance, switching support and troubleshooting techniques A cents € cents Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers and switches A cents € cents Solid understanding of LAN, WAN systems and user rights A cents € cents Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources A cents € cents Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization A cents € cents Strong problem determination and resolution skills A cents € cents Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems A cents € cents Experience with Linux operating system support and troubleshooting techniques A cents € cents Basic understanding of server back-up and restore processes A cents € cents Strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization A cents € cents Must be able to write procedures and technical content related to position responsibilities A cents € cents Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers A cents € cents Must work effectively in a team environment, multi-team setting, as well as independently A cents € cents Must know how to provide a status on assigned deliverables (ie, estimate their work) A cents € cents Must be a US Citizen A cents € cents Must be able to lift 50 lbs. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A cents € cents Knowledge of Dell PowerEdge hardware A cents € cents Microsoft Exchange administration A cents € cents Basic Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database installation and administration A cents € cents Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies EDUCATION Qualified candidates must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in Information Technology or related field.
