In fiscal year 2018, Ascension provided nearly $2 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs.What You Will DoThis position is on our 20-bed unit used for 23 hour observation of patients from the Emergency Department as it is determined if they will need to be admitted. It is an extremely fast paced unit where admissions and discharges move quickly. You would be exposed to patients with chest pain, those needing imaging, stress testing, echocardiograms or the like to determine their diagnosis / needs. Many of our patients are on telemetry. We also get overflow from our med / surg units as well post op patients from procedures where recovery time is less than 24 hours.This position is full time, 36 hours a week (three 12-hour shifts), on our night shift (7P-7:30A). The position is benefit eligible so comes with Ascension's comprehensive programs that protect your health, income and survivors, as well as secure your retirement and enrich your spirit.What You Will Need* Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing required.* Registered Nurse (RN) credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.* BLS certification from the American Heart Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.* A minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse strongly preferred.* Prior / recent work experience as a Registered Nurse in a fast paced acute care setting preferred.* Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credentialed from the American Heart Association preferred.The next step is to get your information in front of our Nurse Recruiter.
