Cloud Security Engineer / Architect We are seeking an energetic and motivated Cloud Security Engineer to provide expertise on program plans, security engineering, and security and privacy requirements to support Cloud Computing efforts. You will ensure compliance with the latest FedRAMP and Agency requirements for Cloud hosting environments (Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), currently Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) performed under a large federal cybersecurity focused contract within the Department of Transportation (DOT). We need a strong Cloud Cybersecurity Engineering expert with exceptional technical and people skills to support and promote Innovation and Delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that requisite security capabilities are designed into future system upgrades and/or enhancements Support development of Agency level and program specific Common Controls and the Agency Common Controls Catalog Ensure compliance with the latest FedRAMP and Agency requirements Assist in the security engineering reviews of solutions, projects and programs for operational and developmental systems that are being researched, designed and reviewed by various working groups Provide guidance, program plans, and security engineering and framework support areas such as Trusted Internet Connection Initiative (TIC), Software Assurance, Mobile Device Security (Mobility), Remote Access Solutions (two-factor authentication requirements), Personal Identity Verification (PIV), and Defense Information Security (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) Attend meetings and workgroups requiring security engineering guidance and support as directed Prepare briefings and reports as requested Coach, mentor, and develop junior to mid-level staff on consulting and Cloud Security Engineering Develop an Enterprise wide Security Architecture Design of a security model based on current policies Analysis of security services (Infrastructure, Application, Identity) of existing and planned Cloud infrastructures (IaaS, PaaS) provided by the CSP, third party providers, and in-house capabilities and identify gaps in security services Assist in conducting architecture risk assessments Assist in the design of a security architecture and services Assist in the evaluation and implementation of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework Coach, mentor, and develop junior to mid-level staff on consulting and Enterprise Information Security Architecture BACKGROUND 15 or more years of relevant security experience Expert knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP and NIST guidance Hands on AWS and/or Azure experience Demonstrated experience with broad array of cybersecurity tools and technologies Experience at DOT and FAA is preferred but not required EDUCATION Successful completion of a four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university in Business/Engineering Bachelor's degree AWS and/or Azure certification Preferred CISSP and/or CCSP Preferred LOCATION Washington DC metropolitan area
