Mason Impact Student Support Specialist

The George Mason University department of Undergraduate Education in the Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the opening of a Mason Impact Student Support Specialist position. This position will be part of the Mason Impact team and be responsible for a variety of activities supporting student involvement in Mason Impact. The position will develop new programs, expand student participation, and manage existing student programs in support of the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Scholarship, Creative Activities, and Research (OSCAR), the Director of Community Engagement and Civic Learning (CECiL), and the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Primary Responsibilities: * Maintaining, expanding, and developing student programs and activities within Mason Impact to increase student participation; * Creating and implementing student messaging for Mason Impact activities for student walk-ins, admission and orientation events, and advisors and coaches around Mason; * Supporting the student hiring and payment process in programs such as Federal Work Study, URSP, and Summer Team Impact Projects; * Being creative and resourceful in sharing Mason Impact opportunities for students, including through the creation of social media and web-based marketing campaigns for students, and through event planning; * Serving on and leading appropriate Mason Impact and University committees, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Experience in creating educational programming in higher education; * Able to work well in a team as well as independently; * Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; * Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); * Experience editing websites.

Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree preferred; * Knowledge of GMU-specific systems such as Banner, DegreeWorks, Navigate, Handshake, and Drupal.
