MicroStrategy Develper George Mason University, Information Technology Services (ITS) - located on the Fairfax, Va., campus-invites applications for a MicroStrategy Developer position within the Enterprise Applications, Business Intelligence Services team. Responsibilities: * Developing complex reports, modifying existing reports and providing technical support to University MicroStrategy report writers * Assisting with functional and performance testing for new and existing reports * Performing administrative duties such as, system monitoring, installation and upgrade of Business Intelligence software, development of automated scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting * Working with our system administrators, as well as other departments such as system engineering and database administration, to ensure that MicroStrategy is performing well and is available to users
Required Qualifications: * BS or higher degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Demonstrated significant working knowledge of SQL queries; * Experience developing reports in a Business Intelligence tool or a reporting tool, such as MicroStrategy, Cognos, Crystal Reports or Tableau; * Excellent communication skills for supporting both functional area users and ITS technical staff; * Exemplary analytic skills, applicable in areas such as requirements analysis and problem solving; * Experience with scripting, such as Java, Unix shell, Windows batch, and/or MicroStrategy Command Manager scripts; and * Demonstrated working knowledge of Data Warehouse design and Star Schema methodology.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience developing reports and dashboards in MicroStrategy; * Understanding of MicroStrategy architecture and operations; * Experience with Oracle Databases; * Performance tuning of SQL queries; * Experience working in a Linus or Unix environment; * Experience administering a production system in an application administration or other related capacity; and * Experience with George Mason University data.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
